Reflexology

A theory dating back to the 19th century states that reflexology works by stimulation of the nervous system. Various areas of the feet map to specific parts of the body. Pressure on these areas stimulate nerves located there and send messages to the central nervous system.

Some of the benefits of reflexology are:

  • Boosts immune system.
  • Helps with sinus issues.
  • Can ease muscle pain.
  • Improves circulation.
  • Calms the sympathetic NS, calms anxiety.
  • Aids in hormonal and digestive problems
  • Eases constipation.

Overall reflexology can help your body get back to homeostasis (the physiological process that keeps the internal environment of a living organism stable and balanced). For example, even when the external environment is rapidly changing, homeostasis keeps the body’s internal environment constant and steady.
